Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle (sallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "If somebody gives in charity something equal to a date from his honestly earned money --for nothing ascends to Allah except good---then Allah will take it in His Right (Hand) and bring it up for its owner as anyone of you brings up a baby horse, till it becomes like a mountain." Abu Huraira said: The Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa sallam)  said, "Nothing ascends to Allah except good." Bukhari Book 24: Volume 9

An oftentimes overlooked population of people, are those presently incarcerated in prison facilities. This is an opportune time to give dawah, both to those who have no knowledge of Islaam, and those who are muslim, but may not have the correct understanding of our beautful religion.

There are many muslims in need of our attention, insha'allah. We can be a intermediary in regards to their children, teach them to pray , offer various free islamic materials, Qur'aans, books and tapes. Just being a person who gives naseehah, and encourages them upon righteousness by writing letters would be such a blessing to them.

Whether you are doing official outreach in the prison, contacting the incarcerated by mail or reaching out to a loved one, please see any of the following links for literature to print-out or purchase. Everything below are just suggestions, insha'allah it is a starting point.
