Our Purpose

Al Ma'un fund was established by Allaah's permission to assist those in need by helping in some small way, by giving a portion of funds for rental help, utility turn-offs, supplying emergency food, clothing, gift khimars, baby needs, household goods, co-pays for doctors visits or prescriptions, eyeglasses and the like, and also locating additional resources if needed. Any small unexpected expenses, or necessary needs that comes up in our daily lives, but that a family may be unable to pay due to any number of reasons.

We also aim to provide Islamic reading material for incarcerated muslims (male & female) through our prison outreach program on a periodic basis, in addition to our other projects, referrals and resource database.

Although we will do our best to assist you, we cannot guarantee that you will receive funding, and all rizq is from Allaah subhana' wa t'ala.

Say: "Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allaah's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers." (Saba' 34:39)

Who We Are

We are a small group of concerned people who are upon the way of Our Pious Predecessors who are the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wassallam) and the Imaams of guidance (may Allaah be pleased with them) from the first three generations, those whose goodness Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) bore witness to in his statement:

"The best of mankind is my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will come people where bearing witness of one of them will precede his taking an oath and his taking an oath will be his bearing witness." [Reported by Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal in the 'Musnad', 'Al-Bukhaaree', and Muslim]

Who want for our sisters & brothers in deen what we want for ourselves. Our aim is to provide an Islamic resource to help in any small way we can to ease the conditions of those in need, and all success comes from Allaah , Highly Exalted is He.

The staff and helpers of Al Maun Fund are located in various parts of the United States, and our niyaat (intention) is to do our best to aid the community with their needs, not only through financial assistance, donated goods and resources, but by also giving encouragement to have sabr & to have total reliance on Allaah in their time of tests and trials. As only Allaah is the One All Capable of rectifying their affairs and sending His Bounty to them.

Mundhir b. Jarir reported on the authority of his father: While we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah in the early hours of the morning, some people came there (who) were barefooted, naked, wearing striped woollen clothes, or cloaks, with their swords hung (around their necks). Most of them, nay, all of them, belonged to the tribe of Mudar. The color of the face of the Messenger of Allah underwent a change when he saw them in poverty. He then entered (his house) and came out and commanded Bilal (to pronounce the Adhan). He pronounced the Adhan and Iqama, and he (the Holy Prophet) observed prayer (along with his Companions) and then addressed (them reciting verses of the Holy Qur'an): '" O people, fear your Lord, Who created you from a single being" to the end of the verse," Allah is ever a Watcher over you" (iv. 1). (He then recited) a verse of Sura Hashr:" Fear Allah. and let every soul consider that which it sends forth for the morrow and fear Allah" (lix. 18). (Then the audience began to vie with one another in giving charity.) Some donated a dinar, others a dirham, still others clothes, some donated a sa' of wheat, some a sa' of dates; till he (the Holy Prophet) (sallahu alahyi wa sallam) said: (Bring) even if it is half a date. Then a person from among the Ansar came there with a money bag which his hands could scarcely lift; in fact, they could not (lift). Then the people followed continuously, till I saw two heaps of eatables and clothes, and I saw the face of the Messenger (may peace be upon him) glistening, like gold (on account of joy). The Messenger of Allaah(sallahu alahyi wa sallam) said: He who sets a good precedent in Islam, there is a reward for him for this (act of goodness) and reward of that also who acted according to it subsequently, without any deduction from their rewards; and he who sets in Islam an evil precedent, there is upon him the burden of that, and the burden of him also who acted upon it subsequently, without any deduction from their burden.
